BREAKING: Nintendo’s eShop and Miiverse Services Fail on Christmas Morning

3dsfailFamilies all over the world this Christmas morning are opening brand new gaming consoles, but those families that chose to buy a Wii U and/or a 3DS will be let down when they find out that Nintendo’s eShop and Miiverse are on the fritz. This means you can’t download games from the eShop, redeem download codes for digital games packaged with new consoles, or meet millions of fellow Nintendo fans on the Miiverse.

As a huge Nintendo fan, I’m hoping this outage is due to millions of new Wii U and 3DS users coming online all at the same time, but that scenario is a bit unlikely. Either way, this is a nightmare scenario for our friends at Nintendo, as this has the potential to upset a lot of little gamers and their parents. Here’s hoping the outage is fixed soon. On the bright side, families everywhere will be forced to talk to each other and share in the Christmas spirit free from new gadgets… or free of Nintendo gadgets, anyway. Merry Christmas, gamers!

P.S. You of course can follow the gamer rage on Twitter by checking out the tweets here.

[Update] Nintendo acknowledges the online service outage via their Online Services Status page

I am pretty sure I saw on Fox News that this was Obama’s fault. The man simply cannot get websites to work.
