Some Songs Considered #057: Pinegrove, Big Thief, the twangs of narrative and genre
You've reached the end of our little internet.
Quinn Myers is a stringer-together of words and other things, currently based in D.C. He used to book shows at Above the Bayou and elsewhere around town but now he just kinda sits around reading, avoiding social media (and failing), and easing his anxiety with copious amounts of caffeine (and failing).
A seeker of the hot n’ spicy, he’s written about music, tiny houses, and burgeoning art spaces and communities for various local outlets. As a recent intern at Washington City Paper, he cowrote a cover story on decrepit housing conditions in low-rent units around the city, which helped inspire a D.C. Council bill that targets predatory slumlords.
Email him at firstname.lastname@example.org with fiction recs, the best spot to stream Criterion Collection flicks, and advice on how to keep his basil plant alive.
