Random Nerds Is Throwing A Concert!
Before our magical relaunch in April, Random Nerds was essentially just a place where Joe could arrange some of the greatest events DC nerds have ever seen.# Now that we’ve officially relaunched, that means living up to Random Nerds’ notorious legacy of throwing events that justify the rare trip out of the house.
So, with that in mind, it is with immense pride and pleasure that I get to announce that on May 16th, we’ve got New York City’s Spirit Animal and DC’s own Kokayi playing Rock and Roll Hotel in Washington DC for a one-night-only bill!
You heard that right. For one night only, thanks to a fair bit of luck, we were somehow able to get two of the best acts out there in the same place on the same night.
Spirit Animal’s Steve Cooper has been described as the best showman in rock, and I have skipped the State of the Union to see these guys play live. I don’t even apologize for what I’m going to do when they play “Come to Christmas.”
Kokayi is one of the coolest acts in DC. The charismatic frontman and his band’s creative take on hip-hop is amazing to experience live, and if Ally Schweitzer of WAMU had her way, Kokayi would have won NPR’s Tiny Desk competition for this entry of his:
